The Central Michigan University women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the first-ever NCAA regional meet on Saturday evening.
Although no Chippewa will be heading to the NCAA championship meet, there were several solid performances turned in.
Jackie Smart led the way for CMU by taking eighth in the triple jump. Her leap of 41-10 * shattered the school record that she set on May 17 at the Mid-American Conference championships.
Jackie Bozin reached the 5-7 * mark in the high jump, good enough for 17th place and freshman Kari Taylor took 20th in the discus with a throw of 139-2.
The NCAA championship meet will take place June 11-14 in Sacramento, California.
