Nicknamed the "Humble Tiger" for his gentlemanly manner off the floor and his ferocious determination on the court ... helped the Chippewas to records of 23-6 and 23-3 while averaging 13.6 and 15.0 points per game in 1966 and '67, respectively ... named second team Little All-American in 1967 ... in his senior season in 1968, Willie set records for assists in a season (129) and career (329) ... played just three seasons and his 1,236 points still ranks ninth in CMU annals and his career assist mark is fifth ... a product of Detroit Pershing ... three-time first team Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) choice ... played two years in the ABA with Miami.
