An outstanding running back in the early 1950s, Chuck was a successful football coach following graduation ... star member of CMU's undefeated freshman football team in 1950 and was a regular on offense and defense in '51, once scoring on a 90-yard run ... first team all-IIAC on offense and defense in '52 and '53, helping the Chippewas to the championship in the latter season ... team was 19-6-1 in his three seasons on varsity ... led Central in rushing in '53 with 938 yards in nine games ... ran on the track team for two seasons ... Miller has been at Vandercook Lake High in Jackson for the past 40 years, serving as the athletics director for the past 35 years ... was also a football coach for 20 years, guiding his teams to a record of 128-45 and posting four undefeated seasons ... teams won eight conference titles in football, two in baseball and one in track ... lives in Jackson.
