Superb long-distance runner for Central from 1955-58 ... held school marks in the 880, mile and two mile outdoors and the mile indoors ... finished second in the 1958 NCAA cross country finals and was the IIAC cross country champ in '58 ... won the NAIA national title in 1958 and was second in the NAIA two-mile run the same year ... was an All-American in cross country and track in 1958 ... served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 1959-63 before coaching at Coleman, North Muskegon and Holly.
