A two-sport standout for CMU from 1925-31... earned four letters in track and three in football... played end in football and was an outstanding blocker... was captain of the 1931 track team... set the low hurdle record (25.3) that stood for 12 years... was also a long jumper as well as a 220 and 440 sprinter... named the 1931 Outstanding Student-Athlete by the Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference... served as president of his senior class... taught and coached following graduation... returned to Central in 1940 as assistant dean of men... retired in 1971 as CMU's registrar.
