An outstanding basketball player from 1969-71, Paul finished his career as Central Michigan's second-leading scorer with 1,278 points ... he's now 14th ... career scoring average of 16.6 is eighth ... led the Chippewas into postseason NCAA tourney play twice and was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 1971 ... twice named CMU MVP ... first team Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) choice in 1970 and second team all-district ... first team all-district in 1971 and led Central in scoring for the third straight season ... honorable mention All-American as a senior ... a 6-4 product of Grand Rapids Central High.
