CMU's first first-team Little All-American in 1942 ... earned a spot on the 1969 "Greatest of the Chips" team ... three-year letterwinner in football and track ... co-captain of 1942 team which was 6-0 ... served as head coach in 1950, guiding Chippewas to a 6-4 record ... also served as head coach of Boston University from 1964-69 and posted a 21-24-2 record ... left coaching to serve as athletic director at Boston University (1970-74) and Illinois State (1974-78) ... also served as a scout for SF 49ers ... died on Nov. 17, 1982.
