Men's Track Hosts First Meet In New Track

MOUNT PLEASANT--The Central Michigan University men's track and field team started the 2000 season by hosting the non-scoring Chippewa Open on Jan. 14 in the Jack Skoog Track.
The meet marked the first home competition for the Chippewas since 1985.
Returning All-American Greg Richardson took first in the 60m hurdles (8.23) and the long jump (22-9 1/4).
Other first place finishers included: Dana Thomas in the 200m (22.49), Emerson Jones in the 400m (49.79), Ian Searcy in the 600m (1:21.20), Tom Kessell in the 800m (1:57.51), Ronnie Zatkoff in the high jump (6-8) and triple jump (40-10 1/2), Pat Walderzak in the shot put (53-7 1/2), Nick Squires in the 35-pound weight (56-4 3/4) and Caleb Siedlecki and Jesse Roberson tied for first in the pole vault (14-0).
