Men's Track Hosts Chippewa Open

MOUNT PLEASANT--The Central Michigan men's track and field team opened the 2001 indoor season by hosting the Chippewa Open on Friday at the Jack Skoog Indoor Track.

The Chippewas dominated the non-scoring event with several first-place finishes.

Leading CMU with first-place finishes were: Steve Wolf in long jump (22-8), Jacob Crowe in the mile (4:18.34), Pat Walderzak in the shot put (56-10 ?) and the weight throw (55-4 ?), Clive Roberts in the 60m hurdles (8.23) and the 60m (6.7), Ian Searcy in the 600m (1:21.00), Ronnie Zatkoff in the high jump (6-8 ?), Jeff DeLong in the 800m (1:51.75), Steve Wolf in the triple jump (43-11 ?) and the 4x400m relay (3:26.63).

The Chippewas return to action next Saturday at the Red Simmons Invitational at Michigan.
