DeLong Earns All-American Honors In The 800 Meters

EUGENE, Ore. -- Central Michigan University senior Jeff DeLong ended up earning All-American honors for his performance in the 800 meters last Wednesday at the NCAA championships.
DeLong ran 1:48.64 in the preliminaries but did not advance to the finals. When the finals were completed on Friday his time placed 14th overall and was the eighth-best time by an American citizen. The top eight U.S. citizens in each event are tabbed All-Americans.
It was the second time this season DeLong captured the honor. He also was an All-American during the indoor season.
