Men's Track Competes At USTCA Quad

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Central Michigan men's track team finished second at the USTCA Quad in Bloomington, Ind., on Saturday afternoon.
Indiana was tops on Saturday with a score of 166 points and the Chippewas were a close second, tallying 160.
Bolstering the Chippewas to a second-place showing were seven first-place finishers. Mike Sidlauskas led the way with two top showings. He was first in the discus (164-7) and in the hammer throw (174-11 1/2). Other event champions for CMU were Derold Sligh in the 400m (47.45), Ian Searcy in the 800m (1:51.65), Jake Flynn in the 5000m (14:33.69) and Steve Wolf in the high jump (6-7 1/2). The 1600m relay team also took first with a time of 3:12.50.
Nine athletes finished second for the Maroon and Gold. Kevin Keil tallied two second-place showings. One in the shot put (47-2 1/2) and in the discus (146-11 1/2). Other second-place showings belonged to: Johnnie Drake in the 100m (10.96), Soji Jibowu in the 200m, (21.69), Jacob Crowe in the 1500m (3:52.35), Jeff Davis in the steeplechase (9:04.44), Adam Lyon in the 400m hurdles (52.90). The 400m relay team captures second as well, finishing in 41.34.
