Chippewa Athlete Named MAC "Runner of the Week"

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University men's track member Johnie Drake (Detroit/So.) was named the MAC "Runner of the Week" for the week of January 20.
Drake broke the CMU school record in the 60m dash for the second straight week with his first-place performance at the CMU Open, running a 6.75. The Cass Tech High graduate shattered the mark of 6.78 that he set last week at the Chippewa Open.
Drake's time is the best in the MAC this season and is only .03 off of the NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Drake and the Chippewas return to action on Saturday, January 25, when they travel to Ann Arbor to compete in the Red Simmons Invitational.
