Thomas Breaks School Decathlon Record

AUSTIN, Texas - Dana Thomas (East Lansing/Sr.) broke the Central Miichigan University school record in the decathlon with 7,386 points. He placed third at the 76th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The Relays started on April 2 and concluded on April 5.
Craig Kielty held the old CMU record with 7,315 points in 1984.
Four Chippewas competed at the meet, the other competitors were: Pat Walderzak (Frankenmuth/Sr.) sixth in section B of the shot put with a regional qualifying distance of 55-2 1/4. Walderzak also qualified regionally with a seventh-place finish in the hammer throw (192-9).
Aaron Gebauer (Bad Axe/Sr.) qualified regionally with a 12th-place finish in the pole vault (16-4 3/4).
Clive Roberts (Scarborough,Ont./Sr.) was 17th of 56 runners in the 100 meter dash (10.61) and 28th of 52 runners in the 110 hurdles (14.54).
The Chippewas travel to Bloomington, Indiana, to compete in the Indiana Triangular on Saturday, April 12.
