Men's Track Opens Season

MOUNT PLEASANT - The Central Michigan University men's track team kicked off the season on Friday night by hosting the Chippewa Open at Jack Skoog Track.
The Chippewas dominated the meet by winning 12 of the 15 events. The meet included teams from Lake Superior State, Cornerstone and Northwood.
Taking first for CMU was: Johnie Drake (60m - 6.76), Derold Sligh (200m - 22.33), Ron Miller (Mile - 4:24.91), Steve Wezner (600m - 1:23.85), Frank Therrian (3,000m - 8:58.91), Clarence Glenn (60m hurdles - 8.13), Dave Jones (pole vault - 5.05m), 4x400m relay team (3:23.71), Steve Wolf (long jump - 7.05m), Ben Morris (triple jump - 13.34m) and Dave Stallworth (shot put - 14.93m and weight throw - 17.95m)
The Chippewas return to action next Friday, Jan. 16, at the Jack Skoog Open.
