Women's Cross Country Runner Named Academic All-MAC

MOUNT PLEASANT-- Central Michigan University student-athlete Teresa Bongiovanni was named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference this week.

Bongiovanni has run in all six meets this season and has consistently posted the top time for the Chippewas. The junior turned in a season-best 5k time of 18:32 at the Central Collegiate Championships. A native of Washington, Bongiovanni carries a 3.88 cumulative GPA and is majoring in health fitness.

To receive Academic All-MAC honors a student athlete must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50% of the contest. Transfer students and freshman are not eligible during their first year.
