Drake Qualifies for Finals in the 60m

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark - Central Michigan University sprinter Johnie Drake qualified for the 60m final at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., this afternoon.
The Chippewa finished second in his heat with a 6.71 and was one of eight sprinters to advance to the finals. The winner of from each heat automatically advanced and the top six times after each winner also advanced to the finals.
Drake automatically qualified for the championships at the Central Collegiate Indoor Track and Field Championships on Jan. 29. He turned in a time of 6.57 at Eastern Michigan's indoor track.
The 60m dash championship is slated to start tomorrow, Saturday, March 13, at 7:15 p.m.
