One of Central Michigan University's most recognizable alumni will return to his alma mater for a November book signing.
Dick Enberg, a play-by-play announcer for The NFL on CBS and a 1957 CMU graduate, will sign copies of his books, "Oh My!" and "Humorous Quotes for All Occasions," from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at the CMU Bookstore in the Bovee University Center. The public is welcome to attend.
"Oh My!," a hardcover book, and "Humorous Quotes," a paperback, are regularly stocked at the bookstore, although extra copies will be on hand for the signing. The books cost $24.95 and $12.95.
CMU Bookstore Manager Barry Waters said patrons also are welcome to bring previously purchased copies of the books to the signing, which will take place in the Trade Books section of the bookstore.
Waters, a self-proclaimed "huge fan" of Enberg, said the event promises to be an exciting one for alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members.
"It's going to be a great day," he said.
At 7 p.m., Enberg will introduce motivational speaker Jolanda Jones, a former "Survivor" cast member, who will speak in Warriner Hall's Plachta Auditorium on the CMU campus. Jones' lecture is part of the Phi Sigma Epsilon Speaker Series, which is sponsored by Enberg's fraternity. Admission to the lecture is free and open to the public.
