MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University Athletics Director Herb Deromedi has announced the appointment of Craig Willey as Chippewa Club Director.
Willey, a CMU alumnus, has been the assistant director of marketing in the athletics department for the last three and a half years. He will now report to Bret Hyble, Associate AD/Development.
"I'm very excited about the opportunity to take on a new role in the department," Willey said. "I've been at CMU for eight years and have a special place in my heart for the university and athletics department. I look forward to working with all of the dedicated Chippewa Club members that enable our teams to compete at an elite Division I level while continuing our championship traditions."
Willey's focus will now turn to annual giving projects and the organization of reunions, golf outings and special events. He will work closely with the coaching staffs to engage and cultivate relationships with former letterwinners and friends of the programs.
While in the marketing office the past few years, Willey was responsible for annual marketing plans, sponsorship sales, account management, advertising placements, game day promotions and the production of printed promotional materials.
The Ishpeming, Mich., native is engaged to Kristin Kowalski.
