MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University student-athletes have rocked Rose Arena over the years with their athletic performances. On Sunday, April 2, they will rock musically.
All of CMU's athletic teams will participate in Jock Rock 2006, a mock rock competition that raises funds for charity.
Jock Rock 2006 takes place in Rose Arena at 7 p.m. Admission is $3 with all the proceeds going to benefit the Michigan Special Olympics.
The teams are allotted eight minutes for their routine and they will be judged on creativity, lip syncing and originality.
The men's track team won last year's event marking their sixth title in Jock Rock history. A total of $1,000 was raised in 2005 for the Child and Fame Enrichment Council (CAFE).
Jock Rock is coordinated annually by CMU's Student-Athlete Advisory Board.
