Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll Released

MOUNT PLEASANT – The Mid-American Conference released its preseason coaches poll for the 2006 women’s cross country season, and Central Michigan University was picked to finish 10th.
CMU returns four scorers from last season’s MAC Championships, where the Chippewas finished in a tie for seventh. Sophomores Jackie Rivard and Amanda Rudert, junior Sara Prout, and senior Ashley Anderson are all back to lead the team’s efforts this season.
Toledo, the runner-up in 2005, was selected as the favorite to capture the conference crown in 2006. Defending conference champion Akron was tabbed to finish seventh. Buffao will host the MAC Championships on Saturday, October 28,
CMU will open the 2006 season hosting the Jeff Drenth Memorial on Friday, September 1 at 4:30 p.m. The men’s race will begin at 4 p.m.
