MOUNT PLEASANT - Shanna Tamminga has been named the State Farm CMU Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Tamminga took first place in the pentathlon at the Michigan Intercollegiates last weekend, scoring 3,425 points. CMU took second at the six-team event.
Tamminga is a marketing major with a 3.06 grade-point average.
Each week, State Farm will recognize one male and one female student-athlete as its CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
