Courtney Kersten is this week's CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Kersten, a senior majoring in health fitness with a 3.32 grade point average, led CMU to a pair of sweeps last weekend against archrival Western Michigan and Northern Illinois. She totaled 108 assists, 24 digs, nine kills and four blocks as the Chippewas ran their winning streak to seven straight matches and 21 of 22 games in those matches.
She was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for the second time in her career after averaging 18.0 assists, 4.0 digs, 0.83 blocks and 1.5 kills per game over the weekend.
Each week, one CMU student-athlete is selected as the CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
