Bryan Mitzel has been named the State Farm CMU Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Mitzel appeared in four games last week, batting .500 (6-for-12) in his return to the lineup from an injury. He had a double, homer, four runs and four RBI. He was 3-for-4 with a homer and three runs scored in Saturday's 15-4 win over Western Michigan and 2-for-4 with three RBI in Sunday's series finale.

A senior majoring in sport studies, Mitzel maintains a 3.28 grade-point average.

Each week, State Farm will recognize one male and one female student-athlete as its CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
