Christina Novak has been named the State Farm CMU Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Novak homered twice in the Chippewas' 6-5, eight-inning loss to Eastern Michigan in the Mid-American Conference Softball Tournament championship game. She had three hits in the tournament, all of which were home runs, and was named to the all-tournament team.

A freshman with a 3.20 grade-point average, Novak has yet to declare a major. 

Each week, State Farm will recognize one male and one female student-athlete as its CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
