Libby Carpenter is this week's CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Carpenter, a senior majoring in biomedical sciences, finished first in the 3,000 meters at the Harvey/Simmons Invitational at the University of Michigan last weekend. She won the open event with a time of 10:27.33 and was the lone Chippewa to place first in an event.
Carpenter, who also competes for the cross country team, maintains a 3.72 grade-point average. The Whitehall, Mich. native is also the 2007 Boyden Award winner.
Each week, one student-athlete is selected as the CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
