2008 Holiday Food Drive Taking Place on Sunday

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University student-athletes will be sponsoring the 2008 Holiday Food Drive on Sunday, Oct. 26, collecting items for the American Red Cross Food Pantry.

For over 10 years, the Chippewas have held a food drive around Halloween to benefit the American Red Cross Food Pantry. This Sunday, CMU student-athletes will go door-to-door around the community from 4 to 6 p.m. to collect canned and non-perishable food items.

Last year, more than 300 CMU student-athletes collected over 4,800 items to assist the less fortunate. Following the collection, the teams head to the pantry where they stock the shelves with the new items.
