Melissa Darling  has been named the State Farm CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Darling paced the Central Michigan cross country team to a 16th place finish at the NCAA Regional meet last week on a muddy course in West Lafayette, Ind. It was the first time in her career she finished as CMU's no. 1 runner, completing the 6k race in 22:49 in 72nd place.

A health fitness major, Darling carries a 3.04 grade-point average.

Each week, one student-athlete is selected as the State Farm CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
