Brian Brunner has been named the State Farm CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks.
Brunner, making his fourth career start, completed 35-of-53 passes for a school-record 485 yards and four touchdowns and scored the game-winning touchdown on a 1-yard run to lead CMU to a 37-34 win at Indiana on Saturday. Brunner was named Walter Camp Football Foundation National Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts and was nominated for the AT&T All-America Player of the Week award.
The win was CMU's first against a Big Ten opponent since back-to-back wins at Michigan State in 1991 and 1992.
A journalism major, Brunner maintains a 3.89 grade-point average.
Each week, one student-athlete is selected as the State Farm CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
