Korir Places Second in 10,000m

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Central Michigan sits in second place after day one of the Mid-American Conference Men's Track and Field Championships with 11 of its 19 points coming in the 10,000m.
Jacob Korir placed second with a time of 30:09.89 while Sammy Kiprotich was sixth with a time of 31:03.16. Eastern Michigan's Josh Perrin, who won the MAC cross country individual championship, broke the tape with a time of 30:04.11.
A pair of Chippewas also placed in the pole vault with Mike McGregor finishing fourth with a height of 16-0.75 and Joe Hasler sxith with a leap of 15-7. Akron freshman Michael Uhle won the event with a mark of 16-10.75.
Kent State leads the teams standings with 40 points. Action continues at Bowling Green's Whittaker Track on Friday and Saturday.
