Trent Howard is this week's State Farm CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Howard, a freshman pitcher on the baseball team, tossed six strong innings in his first collegiate start, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk. He struck out five to help the Chippewas pick up a 5-3 victory and sweep the doubleheader against Milwaukee.
The Hammond, Ind. native maintains a 3.70 grade-point average.
