Cross Country Programs Garner Academic Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan's women's and men's cross country programs have been recognized for their academic achievement by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The women's program's cumulative grade-point average of 3.595 was the second-highest in the Mid-American Conference and 16th-highest in the country. The men's program's GPA of 3.164 ranked third in the MAC.
A record 160 of the nation's 394 women's cross country programs earned All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA. On the men's side, 110 of the country's 315 programs were recognized.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative grade-point average.
