Distance Runners and Throwers Compete at Hillsdale Relays

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Wade Buchs was among the top performers for the group of Chippewas that represented the Central Michigan men's track and field team at the Hillsdale Relays on Friday.

Buchs took ninth in the 3000m steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 10:02.70. Senior distance runner Sean Anthony also competed in the event and finished 16th (10:18.22).

Other Chippewas competing in the meet were Jacob Maloney and Mychael King in the hammer throw and shot put. Maloney took 28th in the hammer (143-7) and 30th in the shot (40-2 1/4).

Central returns to action next weekend when it heads to Columbus, Ohio for the Jesse Owens Classic.
