MOUNT PLEASANT-The Central Michigan University men’s cross country team will travel to Eastern Michigan University Friday to compete in their first scored meet of the season.
The Chippewas come off a strong home meet last weekend as they hosted Alma College, CMU took 24 of 28 events and showed very well.
CMU will look to see some in and out of conference teams this weekend as they compete against Eastern Michigan, University of Detroit Mercy and Oakland University.
“Anytime you compete against conference teams you always go in with a higher level of individual and team goals,” head coach Willie Randolph said.
The scored meet will give the Chippewas a chance to see how they place among in and out of conference teams and also allow the athletes to improve their times.
“No matter what venue we are at, we plan to compete with our conference,” Randolph said. “We are always thinking about our regional and national goals throughout the season, this meet is one step closer to that goal.”
The field events will begin at 6:30 p.m. with running to follow at 7, all events will be held in the Bob Parks Fieldhouse at EMU.
