MOUNT PLEASANT- The Central Michigan University track and field program will begin its outdoor season when it heads to the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State this weekend.
The women’s team looks to build off a breakthrough indoor season that saw it finish runner-up at the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships. The men’s team also looks to continue its progress and improve as a team and individually.
“My expectations are that we will pick up where we left off indoors, especially with the women. We’re looking to move forward and win a conference title. To do that, we need to come in with the right winning attitude mentally and physical,” head coach Willie Randolph said.
The Chippewas will look to achieve individual qualifiers for regional’s and nationals and look to compete more on that higher level.
Nice weather has allowed the program to get in a lot of outdoor training, something that will look to be beneficial this weekend.
"We came back ready to go and we have been training very hard and trying to take care of business," Randolph said.
The two-day meet starts ons Friday at 10 a.m. and resumes Saturday morning at 9:30 am.
Complete results will be available following both days at cmuchippewas.com
