Chippewas Head to Louisville and Purdue

MOUNT PLEASANT- The Central Michigan University track and field program will split up this weekend between the Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky., and the Dave Rankin Invite hosted by Purdue University.
The Chippewas will start the weekend at Louisville where they will compete against many nationally ranked teams.
“This meet is another chance for us to really put our best foot forward,” head coach Willie Randolph said. “We want to see where we sit among a lot of great competition before we head into the MAC meet.”
CMU will see some Mid-American Conference competition from Ball State at the meet, giving it a chance to measure itself before the MAC Championships.
Friday’s meet will begin with field events at 9:30 a.m. Running events will begin at 3 p.m.
CMU will also send some distance runners to Purdue University for the Dave Rankin Invite.
“These final meets before the MAC are very important,” Randolph said. “ We get to prepare ourselves even more for conference championship time and we get to compete against some of the nation’s best.”
The Dave Rankin Invite will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Purdue.
