Rose Leads the Way at Mid-Major Challenge

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sophomore Alex Rose led the Chippewas at the Mid-Major Challenge at Sacramento State University as he won the discus on Friday.
After being named Mid-American Conference Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, Rose continued his dominance in the discus by posting a mark of 178-10 to win the event. His toss was 19 feet longer than the second place finisher.
CMU had two sixth place finishes in the long jump, courtesy of Kevin Bacon and Shanaye Carr . Bacon leaped 22-07.75 while Carr jumped 19-00.75.
Senior Katelyn Christensen competed in the women's discus as she threw a 131-09 mark, good for second in her flight, 13th overall.
The Chippewas will continue action in the Mid-Major Challenge tomorrow.
