Imbrock Breaks Own Record at MAC Championships

DEKALB, Ill. - Senior Mykal Imbrock improved her own school record in the hammer toss by over three feet as the rest of the Central Michigan's men's and women's track and field teams competed in four scoring events Thursday at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships.
In the women's hammer toss, Mykal Imbrock earned CMU five team points with her fourth-place finish. Her 190-7 mark breaks CMU's school record of 187-0 which was set by Imbrock earlier in the season.
In the men's hammer throw, school record-holder Ryan McCullough finished third with a toss of 196-7, earning the men's team six points. Behind McCullough in seventh place, Kevin Mays earned two team points with a heave of 184-9.
Kyle Smith finished runner-up in the javelin for the first time this season. His 203-5 mark is a personal best and earned eight team points.
Emily Dienhart competed in the first four events of the heptathlon. The junior won the heptathlon's 200m with a career-best time of 25.70. Dienhart took runner-up in the 100m hurdles with another career-best time of 14.54. She currently has 2807 points with three events left.
Timothy Reynolds and Nicholas Rainey are representing the Chippewas in the decathlon. Reynolds is sitting in fifth 3625 of fourteen competitors. He has finished fifth in four events: 100m (wind-aided 11.14); 400m (personal-best 50.64); long jump (wind-aided 22-2 1/4) and shot put (38-7). There are five decathlon events left.
Chris Pankow took the only point (one) for the Maroon and Gold in the men's 10,000m race. His 32:54.20 time earned him an eight-place finish.
After the first day of competition, the women's team is in 10th with five points and the men's team is in fourth with 17 points.
