MOUNT PLEASANT - Director of track and field and cross country Willie Randolph has announced the team captains for the 2012-13 indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.
Based on a voting process involving both the student-athletes and the coaches, the following individuals have been selected to serve as captain of the track and field team: seniors Matt Lutzke, Greg Knaus, Kayla Brindley and Maddie Ribant; juniors Alex Rose, Ross Parsons, Tim Reynolds, Kelsey Ritter and Samantha Stein; and sophomores Brandon Piligian, Kyla Walworth and Bridget Doughty.
“Being a team captain is not only a title, it’s something you have to embody as a person,” Randolph said. “These young men and women stand for hard work, dedication, teamwork and family. They understand what it means to be a CMU Chippewa. They are going to be selfless and dedicated to excellence not only on the track but also in the classroom and the community.”
Representatives from each of the event groups were chosen to serve as captains for the team.
The track and field teams begin their season December 7th when they travel to Eastern Michigan for an early-season dual meet.
