MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.- Senior guard Kyle Randall has been named the MAC West Player of the Week after his 21-point performance at Pepperdine over the weekend. This is the first MAC honor for Randall this season.
Randall recorded his third 20-point performance in the last four games, leading the Chippewas with 21 points in an 80-77 road win to hand Pepperdine their first loss at home. He was instrumental as the only non-freshman on the floor for the final 3:03 in which CMU held off several Pepperdine charges. His fourth three-pointer was the Chippewas' final field goal, with 2:19 left, and he knocked down 4-of-6 free throws in the final six seconds to seal the victory. He shot 4-of-6 from three-point range, 5-of-8 from the line and 6-of-13 from the floor while tallying three assists, just one turnover, and three rebounds.
The Chippewas return to action on Thursday, Dec 20, against the Bobcats of Texas State inside McGuirk Arena at 7 p.m.
