Employment Opportunities
The candidate in this position will serve as a Graduate Assistant and member of the Central Michigan Athletic Training Staff, who will be under the direct supervision of a staff athletic trainer. Graduate Assistants are responsible for the prevention, immediate care and rehabilitation of injuries occurring with their assigned team. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervision of athletic training students as a Clinical Instructor, opening duties, travel, medical documentation, and communication with direct supervisor, parents, physicians, coaches, other medical personnel.
Positions are 2-year assistantships (renewable after successful performance evaluation after first year). The stipend is $11,000 for a 10-month contract. In addition, Central Michigan University will pay the cost of full-time tuition for graduate assistant positions. There are opportunities for summer employment.
Available Graduate Assistant Positions Include:
Baseball/Assist with Fall Football
Field Hockey/Assist with Indoor & Outdoor Track
Softball/Assist with Fall Football
Wrestling
Gymnastics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Eligible to sit for the NATABOC Exam or currently a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
- Must be accepted into the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions and will have the choice of pursuing a master’s degree in either Health Science or Sports Administration.
