ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Chloe Guschewski shot a 10-over 82 Saturday to lead the Central Michigan women's golf team in the first round of the 36-hole Golden Grizzlies Invitational, hosted by Oakland University, at Katke-Cousins Golf Course.
The tournament is scheduled to conclude with the final 18-hole round on Sunday. The Chippewas shot a 343 team total in Saturday's opening round. Ohio shot 315 to lead the six-team event. Host Oakland is one shot behind the Bobcats.
Elle Nichols of Oakland posted a 2-over 74 to take medalist honors on Saturday. Teammate Marianna Stepp was second, two shots back. Guchewski is among three players tied for 15th.
Also for the Chippewas, Arielle Roberts shot 83 on Saturday and is among a group tied for 18th, while teammate Grace Labrecque shot 87. Also for CMU, Natalie Johnson posted a 91.
