Chippewas Remain in 10th at MAC Championships

LEBANON, Ohio -- Kristen Wolfe shot a 9-over par 81 Saturday to lead the Central Michigan women's golf team in the second round of the Mid-American Conference Championships at Shaker Run Golf Course.
The Chippewas posted a 351 team score on Saturday and stand at 693 after 36 holes of the 54-hole event, which is scheduled to conclude with the final round on Sunday.
CMU is 10th in the 10-team field. Kent State shot 305 on Saturday and is in first place at 609, while Eastern Michigan and Ohio are tied for second at 622. Eastern Michigan posted a 307 on Saturday, while Ohio tallied 320.
Also for CMU on Saturday, Grace Labrecque shot 88, Natalie Johnson and Amanda Walsh both shot 91, and Hannah Matthies posted a 93.
Wolfe leads the Chippewas, and is tied for 38th place, with a two-round 165 total. Johnson stands at 171, Labrecque at 174, Walsh at 183, and Matthies at 191.
Josee Doyon of Kent State leads the tournament at 4-over 148 after her second consecutive 74. She leads teammate Wad Phaewchimplee, the first-round leader, by one shot. Patricia Holt of Bowling Green is third at 152.
