Chippys Set For April 17 At Plachta Auditorium

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Eighth Annual Chippys Award Show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday, April 17, in Warriner Hall's Plachta Auditorium.
The event, organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) honors Central Michigan student-athletes for their accomplishments while raising money for Special Olympics Michigan.
The event is modeled after the popular ESPY Awards and has raised thousands for charities.
Tickets are $5 at the door. Awards will go to best male athlete, best female athlete, breakthrough athlete of the year, best play, best championship performance, best play, best game, comeback athlete, freshman of the year, coach of the year, assistant coach of the year, professor of the year and fan of the year.

Student-athletes Joe Houlihan (baseball) and Shafer Johnson (football) will host the show. Student-Athlete Maddy Bunnell (soccer) is producing the show.
The night will also feature skits and surprise performances. A maroon carpet social is scheduled in the Warriner Hall lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m.
