
Chippewa Golfers 0-2 On Opening Day

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - The Central Michigan women's golf dropped its two matches Monday in the season-opening Mid-American Conference Match Play Challenge at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.
The Chippewas close the event with a match against Fort Wayne on Tuesday morning.
The Chippewas opened on Monday with a 4-1 loss to Oakland, then fell, 3-2, to host Bowling Green.
CMU's Bria Colosky and Natalie Johnson were winners against Bowling Green. Colosky defeated Madelynn Swank, 2-up, and Johnson downed Jessica Madry, 4-and-3.
The Chippewas' Katie Logan fell to Sarah Kern, Danielle Sawyer lost to Fran Rodriguez, and Kristen Wolfe lost to Erin Fahey. All three matches ended 4-and-3.
Sawyer defeated Fiona Schmidt, 4-and-2, to post CMU's lone victory against the Grizzlies.
Maddelyn Zack defeated Logan, 1-up; Zaafina Naqvi topped Colosky, 1-up; Kylee Sullivan downed Johnson, 2-up; and Wolfe fell to Morgan Smith, 5-and-3.
