Chippewa Men Fall at Robert Morris

PITTSBURGH -- Robert Morris outscored Central Michigan, 48-38, in the second half on Tuesday and then held off the Chippewas late to hand CMU an 83-79 nonconference loss at the Colonials' UPMC Events Center.
CMU slipped to 7-5 while Robert Morris improved to 4-8.
How It Happened
After the Chippewas took a 48-37 lead early in the second half, Robert Morris went on a 20-5 run to seize a 57-53 advantage with under 13 minutes to play.
The Chippewas regained the lead, briefly, 71-70, on a David DiLeo 3-pointer with just under four minutes remaining.
Robert Morris regained the lead on two AJ Bramah free throws with 3:43 to play. The Colonials never led by more than five after that, and the Chippewas kept it a one-possession game down the stretch, but could never tie it or pull ahead.
Two Josh Williams free throws gave Robert Morris an 80-77 lead with 16 seconds to play, and a DiLeo 3-point attempt that would have tied it with 6 seconds left missed.
The game featured nine ties and 19 lead changes.
Leaders
DiLeo tied his season high with six 3-pointers to lead CMU with 23 points. He also had a season-high eight rebounds.
Devontae Lane added 13 points and a team-high six assists for CMU, while Kevin McKay had 12 points and Rob Montgomery added 11.

CMU will take the next 10 days off, then will head to West Lafayette, Ind. to play Purdue on Saturday, Dec. 28 (noon).
The Boilermakers were 6-4 heading into a Tuesday game at Ohio and are slated to play in-state rival Butler on Saturday, Dec. 21.
