Targgart Earns Weekly MAC Award

Senior ties program record in placing first at Notre Dame
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan senior Logan Targgart has been named the Mid-American Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational.
Targgart, a senior from Coldwater, won the men's weight throw with a program-record-tying toss of 71 feet, 11 inches while competing against a very strong field at Notre Dame's Loftus Center.
Targgart's throw ranks as the top throw in the MAC and is the sixth best nationally this season. He is a two-time MAC outdoor champion in the hammer throw and has placed third (2019), second (2018) and fourth (2017) in the weight throw at the MAC Indoor Championships.
The Chippewas are scheduled to partake in the Grand Valley State Big Meet on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14-15.
