Women's Basketball, Track & Field On Sideliners' Docket

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Sideliners, the weekly radio show that takes fans inside Central Michigan Athletics, will air live today, Thursday, at 6 p.m. on WUPS 98.5-FM.
The show is hosted by Adam Jaksa. He will be joined by Central Michigan women's basketball coach Heather Oesterle and Chippewa Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Jennifer Swieton.
Also scheduled to join Jaksa are Molly Davis and Jahari Smith of the women's basketball team and Quiara Wheeler of the track & field team.
The Chippewa women's basketball team is 9-5, 7-3 Mid-American Conference and coming off an 83-74 league win over Toledo. The Chippewas are scheduled to entertain Buffalo on Saturday (1 p.m.) at McGuirk Arena.
The CMU track & field team is scheduled to host the annual Jack Skoog Invitational at CMU's Skoog Indoor Track on Saturday, Feb. 6. Wheeler shattered her own program record in the weight throw during the Chippewas' season-opening dual meet with Western Michigan and she came within a whisker of breaking the mark again last weekend at a meet at Grand Valley State.
She has been named the MAC Indoor Female Athlete of the Week in each of the past two weeks.
