Four Join CMU Athletics

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan Athletics announced the hiring of four staff members today, two in internal operations and the other two to its support staff.
Jenna Cornish has joined the department as the director of faculty & staff affairs, Adam Schmitt is the assistant director of sport operations, Morgan Petriko is the new executive assistant to the Zyzlewski Family Director of Athletics Amy Folan and Ginny McLeod comes aboard as an Executive Office Specialist.
Cornish has extensive experience in the field of human resources with Thai Summit America and has worked as a sales associate and in customer service. As the director of faculty & staff affairs, Cornish is responsible for the daily administration and implementation of human resources processes for department personnel.
Cornish holds an associate's degree in business management/hospitality from Lansing Community College, has attended Northwood University, and is working toward a bachelor's degree with a major in human resources at CMU.
Schmitt comes to CMU from Marist College, where he served as the Director of Football Operations since 2018. He also spent time with Hoop Group, Andy Frain Services and Fairmont State. He got his Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration for Lakeland University in 2016 and received his Master of Science in Sport Management from West Virginia in 2017.
Schmitt will coordinate cost-efficient team, recruiting and postseason travel arrangements for all Central Michigan Olympic sports and coaching staff. He will develop budgets and monitor and report all travel expenses to ensure university and NCAA policies are met. Schmitt will also organize administrative travel arrangements.
Petriko holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus on sport management from Adrian College, where she earned two varsity letters in equestrian. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Purdue Global while working at Walt Disney World and also holds certificates in hospitality and tourism management, post crisis leadership, and diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
Petriko worked as an assistant in the track & field/cross country program at Michigan where her responsibilities included logistics, travel, transportation, organization of recruiting visits, and coordination of special events and projects. At Purdue, Petriko worked as a consultant and women's sports specialist in the John Purdue Club, the fundraising organization for Purdue Athletics.

McLeod comes to Athletics from the CMU Registrar's office where she worked as an executive office specialist since 2018. She also has worked in student employment, the biology department and student account services and university billing at Central Michigan, joining in 2010.
McLeod will provide front office support, manage student employment, assist business operations and support the Chippewa Athletic Fund.
