Cross Country Takes on EMU Fall Classic

DEXTER, Mich. — Members of Central Michigan's men and women's cross country teams took a trip to the EMU Fall Classic on Friday to compete in a pair of 5-kilometer races prior to the Mid-American Conference Championship on Oct. 28.

The Chippewas raced 15, 13 women and two men, at the South Course of the Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter.

Clay Kuiper and Mason Cross took to the 55-finisher field for the CMU men. Kuiper finished 24^th in 16:54.6 and Cross placed 39^th with a time of 17:35.9.

Emma Janesak led the CMU women with a 33^rd-place finish in 19:37.6. Shortly behind was Annie Bennett (36^th) and Chesney Wilke (37^th).

Also for CMU was Emma Netzel (49^th), Jolie Fisher (50^th), Mara Szuper (52^nd), Elle Himebaugh (59^th), Ambria Nagel (63^rd), Ava Pergitone (76^th) and Amelia Gouin (77^th).

Sophie Thomas (39^th), Libby Munderloh (61^st) Lauren Hasty (66^th) and Grace Jenkins (69^th) ran unattached.

The Chippewas look to prepare up for the MAC Championship, which takes place on Saturday, Oct. 28 and is hosted by Bowling Green.
