Chippewas join five other MAC programs in NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region rankings
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Women's Cross Country has been ranked 12th in the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday.
Per the USTFCCCA, rankings are determined by one member coach in each respective region, measuring returning team's prospects and current season results to determine rankings in cmmember programs.
The Chippewas are among five other Mid-American Conference schools in the rankings, having competed against four (Ohio, Toledo, Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green) at BGSU's Mel Brodt Collegiate Invitational on Sept. 15. Emily Paupore won the women's race, helping CMU to a fourth-place team finish.
CMU will put the ranking to the test at the Joe Piane Invitational on Sept. 29, hosted by top regionally-ranked Notre Dame.
